Here’s my statement project! I was really influenced by recycling and how lazy people are, even though there could be a recycling bin right next to the trash can. I played with the humor of “shooting” for a trash bin, but put it with the serious recycling twist, which is similar to they styles of other effective posters I have seen. I also made the context for the specific context of UM because the bins I used already had the signs on it and I got a catchy slogan out of it. Haha! Visually, I put the bins close enough together so that people could see that the bottle could easily have been put in the recycling, but was not. I also put a gradient on the one side to draw the attention to the water bottle on the ground. There are two different versions because I didn’t know if I liked the logo on the yellow background. Also, I tried to sharpen the logo, but it wouldn’t sharpen anymore without distorting. Maybe I could take a new picture of it and put it there instead? Also again, I think I might hang this up around. It seems pretty worthwhile.
